NashvillePeople are talking about Andrea Terek. by Perry Lamek "Whoa! It's hard to believe all that voice," raves rock'n'roll legend Bobby Vee. "She really sings great -- lots of texture, great delivery. All of that from such an innocent, smiling face." "Andrea," says Nashville-based producer/musician Craig Krampf, "has the heart and soul for the music." Indeed, music fans from coast to coast are taking notice of the Wisconsin-born singer/songwriter whose dynamic stage presence and sumptuous vocals cannot be ignored - and will not be denied. "I like Andrea a lot," says Chris James of Rock'N'Read Magazine. "What's not to like? She exudes cool --unpretentious, but with attitude." "Andrea," proclaims famed hit-maker Walter Egan, "is like a warm ray of sunshine!" She's feels...the passion "I've learned a lot living in Nashville," Andrea smiles. "I've confirmed a lot about what I do." "Her passion is always there," says Krampf. "And when you think about it, that's what it's all about, isn't it?" The prominent producer knows of which he speaks. Renowned for his work with Melissa Etheridge, Tanya Tucker, Kim Carnes and Alabama, Krampf recently manned the helm for the exciting new CD featuring Terek backed by an all-star roster of 'A List' musicians including Chris Leuzinger (Garth Brooks) on guitars, Glenn Worf (Terry Clark) on bass, Al Perkins (Flying Burrito Bros.) on lap steel and Bill Cuomo (Faith Hill) on keyboards. "Andrea's C.D," says critic James, "is far ahead of what's regularly coming out of Nashville." Hook-laden and firmly rooted in Americana, Andrea's eponymously entitled debut recording expertly melds the best of pop, rock, soul and country into an eye-opening set that will serve to many as an enthusiastic introduction to a gifted vocalist. To many others, however, she needs no introduction -- as she already is well respected as a consummate professional with more than a decade of stage and studio experience already under her belt. Most certainly, Andrea's extraordinary versatility and uncommon savvy have established her reputation as a favorite among music industry veterans such as Walter Egan. "Andrea," Egan proclaims, "has the best work habits of anybody in Nashville." Known for his mega-smash Stevie Nicks duet 'Magnet and Steel', as well as for his work with Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, Egan counts himself among the multitalented Terek's most enthusiastic fans. In fact, last year he recruited her to collaborate on his critically acclaimed "Brooklyn Cowboys" alt-country project. "She really contributed so much to my sound," Egan says, "both vocally and instrumentally." No wonder people are talking! "I like where I am right now," Andrea says. "Whatever comes my way on any other level of this business is just frosting on the cake! "I've always believed in giving one hundred percent to all aspects of the business," she concludes. "When you give it your best, it ultimately pays off." |
